Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project communications and stakeholder-specific outreach plans
- Coordinate visual identity and communications activities with project partners and UN-Habitat teams
- Produce brochures, press releases, campaigns, social media posts and audiovisual materials
- Apply headquarters and regional branding standards to written and design products
- Build media relationships, coordinate enquiries and connect journalists with subject-matter experts
- Write and update web articles, human-interest stories and event coverage
- Manage project social media content and respond to public enquiries
- Report on website and social media performance indicators
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, or three additional years of relevant experience
- Minimum four years of progressively responsible communications experience at national or international level
- Experience with local governments, civil society organisations or advocacy initiatives
- Professional experience in the Brazilian context
- Excellent Portuguese writing and proofreading skills
- Proficiency with the required Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Google and Canva tools
- Fluency in Portuguese

- Ten-month consultancy with possible extension
- Local appointment open to Brazilian nationals or candidates with permanent residence in Brazil
- Travel within Brazil may be required and funded under UN-Habitat rules
