Overview

Mobilizes rural communities for a UNDP land-restoration and biodiversity project in Kachchh. The volunteer supports village consultations, sustainable land-management demonstrations, women’s and youth participation, surveys, training, local coordination and documentation of results and lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Mobilize communities for grassland, forest and agricultural land restoration
  • Facilitate village consultations, coordination meetings and participatory planning
  • Demonstrate sustainable land-management and biodiversity-conservation practices
  • Support ecological restoration, livelihoods and gender-focused activities
  • Organize community training, workshops and exposure visits
  • Conduct social and resource-use surveys and document local practices
  • Coordinate with government agencies and community organizations
  • Compile field evidence for quarterly and annual reports

Requirements

  • At least one year of field experience in rural community development
  • Background in social sciences, science or a related field
  • Hindi and Gujarati
