Technical Specialist, Climate and Nature

Provides strategic climate and nature advice while managing UNDP Egypt’s portfolio across adaptation, energy transition, nature-based solutions and resource security. The role guides delivery teams, budgets, risks, partnerships, donor reporting and knowledge exchange.

• Provide climate and nature policy advice and facilitate policy dialogue and advocacy with partners
• Set technical standards and analyse political, social and economic conditions affecting the portfolio
• Develop annual work plans, budgets, procurement actions and implementation plans
• Guide project teams and consultants and assure delivery against UNDP policies and quality standards
• Monitor finances, results and risks and prepare narrative, financial and donor reports
• Build partnerships with government, donors, financial institutions, civil society, academia and the private sector
• Mobilise resources and develop training, lessons and knowledge products for climate programming

• Advanced university degree in environmental science, natural resources management, climate economics, political or social science, international law, social affairs, international relations or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in one of those fields with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least five years of relevant experience with a master’s degree, or seven years with a bachelor’s degree, providing technical advice, research, policy formulation or complex climate-project management
• Experience fostering networks and coordinating with UN agencies and international organisations
• Experience using office software, web-based management systems, spreadsheets and database packages
• Fluency in English and Arabic

• National Personnel Services Agreement at NPSA-10 level
