Responsibilities
- Apply simplified case definitions to identify priority disease symptoms with particular attention to Ebola
- Identify unusual events or unexplained deaths and report them to surveillance teams
- Verify alerts against case definitions before escalation
- Supervise community relays conducting active case searches
- Support preliminary field investigations and document suspected-case circumstances
- Report suspected cases in real time to nurses or local health authorities
- Centralise and transmit community surveillance data and periodic reports promptly
- Promote hygiene and outbreak-containment practices in affected communities
Requirements
- University or technical diploma in management, administration or a related field with at least two years of relevant experience
- At least two years of experience in a similar field-assistant or logistics role
- Good spoken and written French
- Availability to travel to border points, control points and displacement sites in assigned health zones
