Responsibilities
- Research Civil Affairs policy, local peacebuilding, community engagement and conflict dynamics
- Draft reports, concept papers, policy documents, talking points, newsletters and related materials
- Capture lessons learned, identify good practices and document guidance gaps from peacekeeping missions
- Develop communication and advocacy products, presentations and impact stories
- Support conferences, consultations, workshops and team workstream coordination
- Proofread and copy-edit policy and knowledge products
- Collect and analyse data and manage information and databases
- Explore AI tools for report summarisation, qualitative insight extraction and workflow automation
Requirements
- Current or completed graduate programme, or current or completed final year of a first university degree programme
- Field of study closely related to Civil Affairs policy, research, data or communications work
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- No previous professional work experience is required

Additional info
- Unpaid internship based in New York with possible part-time or remote adjustment
- Full-time hours are 35 per week and part-time hours are 20 per week
- Initial term is two months full-time or four months part-time and may extend to six months
- Interns bear travel, visa, accommodation and living costs
- Desired start date is 1 September 2026 or sooner
