Overview

Supports the DDR Branch with research, drafting, standards review, data visualisation, communication materials and meeting support for disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration work across peace operations and non-mission settings.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review briefing notes, reports and internal documents
  • Research current developments related to DDR in assigned countries
  • Support the Inter-Agency Working Group on DDR and review of Integrated DDR Standards
  • Design UML diagrams and other data visualisations
  • Develop and disseminate communication and public information material
  • Maintain fact sheets and information repositories on peacekeeping missions
  • Attend conferences and meetings and provide verbal or written briefings
  • Assist with DDR Branch administrative work and meeting organisation

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or completed a graduate school programme, or enrolled in or completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme
  • Field of study closely related to the internship
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
