Child Nutrition & Development Specialist

Provides technical and coordination support to Pakistan’s health ministry on child, adolescent and maternal nutrition. The volunteer strengthens policy, multisectoral delivery, data systems and partnerships so equitable nutrition and early-childhood interventions can expand through national services.

Department: Child Nutrition and Development Programme

• Advise health ministry leaders on child nutrition and development
• Coordinate multisectoral nutrition and early-childhood interventions
• Support national policy, strategy and guideline development
• Scale wasting treatment and nutrition services through universal health coverage
• Strengthen DHIS-2 nutrition modules and monthly data reporting
• Coordinate partners, advisory groups and national nutrition events
• Document evidence, research and programme learning

• Qualification in human nutrition, public health nutrition, medicine with a nutrition-focused master of public health, or a relevant field
• Relevant professional experience in nutrition, health and development with broad experience in nutrition-specific health interventions

• National UNV assignment with housing arranged by the volunteer
• Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance is PKR 131,371
• Benefits include life, health and permanent-disability insurance, with health cover for up to three dependants
• The volunteer reports physically to the UNICEF office two days per week or as required
