Website development and maintenance

An online UN Volunteer provides remote technical support to UNHCR Tanzania by maintaining website content, developing features and improving performance, accessibility and security.

Department: UNHCR Tanzania

• Maintain and update website content, pages and multimedia resources
• Develop new web pages and website features in line with organisational requirements
• Monitor website functionality and troubleshoot technical issues
• Optimise website performance, accessibility and responsiveness across devices and browsers
• Implement minor design improvements to improve user experience
• Maintain website security through updates and best practices
• Integrate web forms, plugins and other digital tools as required
• Prepare technical documentation and recommendations for future website improvements

• University studies or professional experience in computer science, information technology, web development, software engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in website development, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and content management systems
• Knowledge of responsive web design, website optimisation and accessibility standards
• Familiarity with website security best practices including updates, backups and vulnerability mitigation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote multicultural environment
• Required English
