Associate Registration and Identity Management Officer

Supports UNHCR registration, identity management and digital identity work in Burundi, strengthening data quality, registration systems and coordination with government, humanitarian and development partners.

• Support registration, enrolment and digital identity strategies for forcibly displaced and stateless populations
• Provide technical support to staff on registration and digital identity activities
• Develop operational guidance, instructions and capacity-development initiatives
• Design procedures and systems for quality registration data and regular audit checks
• Support post-deployment maintenance of UNHCR refugee systems applications
• Strengthen registration and identity management capacity of country teams and government counterparts
• Advocate for fair and efficient registration and digital identification procedures
• Monitor, document and report on registration and identity management activities

• Bachelor degree or higher in law, development, social sciences, information technology, demography, geography, political science, business administration, humanities, statistics or another relevant field
• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in registration, data management, database administration, field protection, case management, population verification, emergency response, returnee movements or directly relevant humanitarian operations
• Understanding of international protection principles and UNHCR registration and identity management guidance
• Fluency in English
