Temporary Protection Caseworker

Processes temporary-protection applications for Ukrainians and third-country nationals arriving in Ireland, guiding applicants through registration, translating documents, identifying vulnerability indicators, coordinating airport transport and appointments, and maintaining accurate statistics and records.

Department: Immigration and Border Governance Programme

• Explain temporary-protection procedures to applicants at Citywest and Dublin Airport
• Guide beneficiaries through government application and registration forms
• Translate and interpret between Ukrainian and English for applicants and stakeholders
• Collect, verify and translate identity documents and certificates
• Identify vulnerability indicators and refer cases to supervisors or appropriate services
• Coordinate airport transport, appointments and registration-centre logistics
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly statistics and operational reports

• High school diploma with four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in social studies, political science, international relations, psychology or a related field with two years
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, displaced people, trafficking survivors or other vulnerable groups
• Experience working with asylum seekers and refugees in multicultural settings
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Ukrainian
• Valid residence and work permit in Ireland

• Locally recruited special short-term graded appointment
• Applicants must hold valid Irish residence and work authorization
• The contract may be shortened to align with the expiry of the successful candidate’s work permit
