Overview
WHO Vanuatu seeks a local SSA to support design and development of a Climate-Informed Health Early Warning and Response System (CI-EWARS) under a GEF LDCF project on climate resilience of Pacific health systems. The role supports system review, ICT deployment, training, and operationalization in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Meteorological Services.

Responsibilities
- Collect and compile information on Vanuatu's existing health surveillance and meteorological data systems
- Support customization and adaptation of CI-EWARS architecture and infrastructure to Vanuatu's needs
- Facilitate procurement and installation of ICT equipment for the early warning system
- Assist in organizing workshops, training sessions and stakeholder consultations, including materials in Bislama
- Provide continuous technical support for operationalization of CI-EWARS and liaison between Ministry of Health, WHO and the international consultant
- Support preparation of EWARS bulletins and health early warning products
- Contribute to the final completion report with sustainability recommendations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental science, meteorology, or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in public health information systems or climate information systems
- Experience working with government ministries, health facilities, or meteorological agencies
- Role is subject to local recruitment and open to Vanuatu nationals in the local commuting area only
