Solutions Architect

Defines architecture for World Bank country-engagement platforms, including CPF and CPIA products. The architect translates business needs into secure, scalable designs, evaluates risk and cost, aligns delivery with enterprise standards, guides engineering teams and promotes reusable, interoperable and AI-enabled solutions.

Department: ITS Country Engagement

• Define solution architecture, integration patterns and detailed designs
• Translate business priorities into feasible technical options and decisions
• Assess dependencies, risks, non-functional requirements and total cost of ownership
• Align solutions with enterprise, security, infrastructure and operational standards
• Prepare architecture diagrams, presentations and decision records
• Lead design reviews, implementation guidance and code reviews
• Mentor engineering teams throughout the solution lifecycle
• Promote reuse, interoperability, security-by-design and maintainability
• Support Agile and SAFe planning and continuous improvement

• Ability to define secure, scalable and maintainable solution architectures
• Ability to translate business requirements into sustainable technical designs
• Ability to assess architectural trade-offs, dependencies, risks and total cost of ownership
• Technical leadership across design, implementation and engineering review

• The position may be based in Sofia or Washington, D.C.
