Overview
The Senior Visa Assistant manages ICTP visa support services for visitors, staff and officials. The role processes visa and permit documentation, advises on immigration procedures, liaises with authorities and supervises front-office support for high-volume cases.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, process and sign entry-visa documentation for ICTP visitors
- Advise staff and visitors on visas, permits of stay and family reunion requests
- Liaise with diplomatic, consular, police, immigration and border authorities
- Maintain guidance on visas, permits of stay and declarations of presence for the ICTP community
- Supervise the Front Office Clerk and control the quality of service delivery
- Manage UN Laissez-Passer requests and Ministry of Foreign Affairs ID cards for ICTP staff
- Coordinate with Italian and foreign diplomatic representatives on visa applications
- Resolve complex visa and immigration cases with ICTP management and the supervisor
Requirements
- Completed secondary, technical or vocational school education
- At least eight years of relevant work experience in visa, immigration or consular and diplomatic support services
- Experience dealing with Italian or Schengen visa procedures and immigration authorities
- Experience liaising with government bodies, diplomatic missions or consular services
- Knowledge of Italian and Schengen visa laws, immigration procedures and public administration language
- Excellent English and very good Italian
