Overview
The Programme Assistant provides administrative, financial, event and procurement support to the IOC capacity development and ocean literacy programme. The role helps track programme activities, organise meetings and travel, manage contracts and maintain records.

Responsibilities
- Track and report on programme activities, budgets and finances
- Review proposal, report and budget information for compliance with UNESCO regulations
- Draft regular and ad hoc reports, budget updates and documentation
- Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, workshops, trainings and travel
- Prepare participant lists, meeting papers and documentation on OceanExpert
- Support procurement and contractual processes for appointments, consultants, suppliers and interns
- Draft correspondence, memoranda, agreements and administrative documents
- Maintain electronic records and apply UNESCO financial and administrative procedures
Requirements
- Secondary, technical or vocational school education
- At least three years of relevant work experience in programme administrative assistance
- High level of organisation and effective management of documents, files and communications
- Very good oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in common office computing tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe software and event management platforms such as OceanExpert
- Excellent English and drafting skills
