Senior Project Assistant (Labour Migration)

Supports IOM Malaysia’s labour-migration programme by coordinating training, research, project delivery and stakeholder engagement with government, business and civil society. The role monitors budgets and results, prepares proposals and reports, and guides unit colleagues.

Department: Migration, Business and Human Rights Programme

• Coordinate project planning and implementation with colleagues and relevant authorities
• Prepare and deliver training and workshops for companies and government counterparts
• Monitor project progress and budget flows and initiate corrective action on delivery issues
• Research labour-migration issues and prepare reports, briefings and presentations
• Maintain partnerships with government, business, civil society, UN agencies, donors and other organisations
• Design migration-management initiatives and draft project proposals focused on labour migration
• Lead, guide and train other staff in the unit

• University degree in law, social sciences, political science or international relations with at least four years of relevant experience, or a high-school diploma with at least six years of relevant experience
• Previous experience addressing migration, labour migration, international recruitment, corporate social sustainability, social compliance, human rights or socioeconomic development

• Special short-term graded appointment for six months
