Regional Programme Specialist, Africa

Manages an Africa-wide portfolio of grants addressing violence against women and girls, providing feminist technical accompaniment throughout the grant lifecycle. The role strengthens civil-society partners, monitors performance and risk, appraises proposals and turns portfolio evidence into regional learning.

Department: UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and Girls

• Provide feminist technical accompaniment to violence-prevention grantees across Africa
• Manage grants through revisions, disbursements, amendments and closure
• Monitor partner performance, safeguarding, compliance and operational risks
• Appraise proposals, budgets, theories of change and monitoring frameworks
• Strengthen civil-society organisations through training and institutional support
• Analyse portfolio evidence and produce strategic, donor and learning products

• Master’s degree in social sciences, political science, development, public administration, gender studies or a related field, or bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
• At least five years of programme-management experience addressing violence against women
• Experience working directly with civil society and women’s organisations
• Experience setting priorities, budgets and workplans
• Experience in programme design, monitoring, reporting and results-based management

• Home-based role with no direct personnel supervision
