Public Health Officer

Provide public-health systems advice and programme support across WHO’s African Region. The officer helps countries strengthen policy, planning, financing and service delivery, analyzes health data, builds capacity, mobilizes resources and coordinates government, UN and development partners.

Department: Office of the Regional Director for Africa

• Advise countries on public-health systems and national implementation
• Develop health policies, strategies and action plans
• Manage workplans, budgets and resource mobilization
• Analyze health data, practices and partner experience
• Build capacity in health-system management and financing
• Support health-network expansion and community outreach
• Coordinate governments, WHO units, UN agencies and development partners
• Represent WHO and develop new programme funding

• Master's degree in public health, global health, international health or a related field
• At least seven years of relevant public-health experience
• National or international monitoring and evaluation experience
• Expert English and intermediate French
