Protection Caseworker AVR+MHPSS

Delivers protection case management for migrants returning to the Dominican Republic, assessing vulnerabilities, preparing individual care plans, coordinating legal, health and psychosocial referrals, maintaining confidential case records and supporting safe post-arrival assistance and protection monitoring.

• Assess protection needs and vulnerabilities of migrants after arrival and prepare individual care plans
• Manage cases and coordinate legal, health, psychosocial, family-tracing and gender-based violence referrals
• Deliver safe and dignified post-arrival assistance with informed consent, privacy and confidentiality
• Explain available assistance to beneficiaries using clear, culturally and age-appropriate communication
• Maintain accurate case records in approved IOM systems and apply data-protection standards
• Coordinate timely services with protection, health, psychosocial and logistics colleagues
• Participate in local protection coordination and strengthen referral networks with partners
• Prepare casework reports and contribute to protection assessments, learning and indicator monitoring

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human ecology, social sciences, international relations or a related field with four years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in a related field with two years of relevant experience
• Experience managing protection cases involving vulnerable migrants in humanitarian or migration contexts
• Experience coordinating referrals with local protection actors, non-governmental organisations or government services
• Fluency in Spanish

• Initial contract duration is six months
• Reports to the Protection Coordinator
• Appointment is subject to funding confirmation and required medical, residency, visa and security clearances
