Nurse (Part-Time 50%)

Provides part-time occupational health and nursing care at UNESCO’s ICTP campus in Trieste. The nurse assesses staff and visitors, gives first aid and preventive advice, coordinates examinations and referrals, supports health campaigns, follows hospitalized patients and liaises with medical and local authorities.

Department: Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics

• Provide first aid and assess medical needs of campus staff and visitors
• Advise on disease management, preventive care and prescribed medication
• Refer patients to physicians and follow up hospitalized cases
• Organize entry and periodic medical examinations
• Support disease-awareness, health-promotion and vaccination campaigns
• Handle confidential sick-leave and disability matters with medical services
• Maintain referral networks for specialists, laboratories and emergency services
• Liaise with health and civil-protection authorities on reportable diseases

• Secondary, technical or vocational nursing qualification
• Registration with the O.P.I. Nursing Council and a valid nursing licence
• At least five years of relevant nursing experience
• BLSD qualification
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Good working knowledge of Italian
• Entitlement to work in the European Union

• Part-time position at 50 percent
• Fixed-term appointment for two years, renewable

• Approximate annual starting salary is EUR 44,141 at full-time equivalence
