Responsibilities
- Record and distribute hourly METAR observations under ICAO and WMO procedures
- Issue SPECI reports when significant weather conditions arise
- Prepare daily TAF and national twenty-four-hour forecasts
- Compile morning and afternoon weather briefing folders for regional stations
- Analyse forecasting models, satellite imagery, radar and real-time observations
- Provide en-route weather information for scheduled and short-notice flights
- Prepare backup forecasts and pilot briefing materials
- Inspect, calibrate and maintain meteorological instruments and software
Requirements
- Expertise preparing weather forecasts and interpreting weather and climate phenomena
- Proficiency reporting hourly observations in METAR format under ICAO standards
- Ability to use meteorological software and instruments
- Strong computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency
- English proficiency
