Job Description

Strengthens vaccine and cold-chain management across Niger’s regional health system through stock planning, logistics data, equipment monitoring and operational support. Consultants provide hands-on mentoring to immunisation coordinators and can be deployed for routine services or campaign response.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Manage dry stores and plan vaccine and injection-equipment requirements
  • Monitor vaccine stock movements and provide evidence for operational decisions
  • Track storage and transport temperatures and plan cold-chain equipment improvements
  • Support regional and district teams with vaccine supply-chain management and reporting
  • Maintain logistics information, forecasting, inventory and temperature-mapping tools
  • Analyse immunisation coverage and monitor implementation of operational logistics plans
  • Mentor regional and departmental immunisation coordinators and train logistics personnel
  • Prepare routine, campaign, inventory, maintenance and end-of-assignment reports

Role Requirements

  • At least a two-year post-secondary technical qualification
  • At least three years of vaccine-logistics experience at national or regional level
  • Proficiency with EVM 2.0, e-SMT, cold-chain inventory tools and ODK
  • Knowledge of Niger’s health-system organisation and collaboration with partners
  • Fluency in French
  • Basic technical English

  • Consultants are paid after approved delivery reports
  • Daily subsistence is paid for an average of ten monthly field-mission days outside the consultant’s regional base

  • Consultants are not UNICEF staff and remain responsible for tax, visa and insurance obligations
