Overview

Supports FAO’s land-consolidation pilot in Georgia’s Samegrelo region, working with farmers, landowners and local authorities. The agronomist inventories holdings, contributes agricultural analysis and valuation, supports land re-allotment and consultation, and feeds pilot experience into national land-consolidation policy.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of the land-consolidation pilot in selected rural areas
  • Coordinate daily field activities with authorities, landowners and farmers
  • Build community participation, consensus and practical compromise
  • Inventory landowners and farmers and collect primary and secondary data
  • Analyse agriculture for the land-consolidation feasibility study
  • Support land valuation and re-allotment processes
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation, plan adoption and registration
  • Contribute pilot lessons to the national land-consolidation programme

Requirements

  • University degree in agriculture, land management or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in agronomy, horticulture, plant production or protection, amelioration or soil management
  • FAO working knowledge Level C English
  • Georgian nationality
