Overview
Advise ICRC delegations across the Near and Middle East on international humanitarian law and related legal matters. The adviser researches and drafts legal analysis, supports protection and treaty-implementation strategies, assists authorities and builds networks with institutions and academic partners.

Responsibilities
- Advise delegations on applicable national and international legal frameworks
- Draft legal notes, analyses, working papers and reports
- Research specific legal issues and national legal systems
- Support dissemination and implementation of international humanitarian law
- Provide legal advice and technical assistance to national authorities
- Monitor implementation of humanitarian and human-rights law
- Represent the regional legal team and maintain institutional and academic networks
- Support protection objectives and supervise external legal consultancies
Requirements
- University degree in law
- Master’s degree or specialisation in international humanitarian law or a related field of public international law
- Four to six years of experience in a similar legal function
- Knowledge of domestic legal and policy frameworks and structures
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Computer proficiency
