Responsibilities
- Advise on housing, land and property strategy, workplans and legal priorities
- Integrate housing, land and property law into project design and quality review
- Provide legal leadership to housing and transitional justice working groups
- Engage state cadastral, legislative and municipal counterparts on legal reform
- Analyse legislative frameworks and emerging housing, land and property challenges
- Produce policy briefs, advocacy papers, research and analytical reports
- Deliver legal training and workshops to government, civil society and United Nations stakeholders
- Support project coordination, donor engagement, concept notes, proposals and reports
Requirements
- Master's degree in Law, Social Sciences, Political Sciences with a housing, land and property background or another relevant field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- Five years of legal-framework and housing, land and property rights experience in humanitarian, recovery or development contexts
- Experience with United Nations agencies or international non-governmental organisations working on housing, land and property rights
- Experience leading capacity building, awareness raising, advocacy, legal support and legal research programmes
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Syrian nationality
