Interpreter/Translator

The volunteer provides accurate French-English translation and simultaneous or consecutive interpretation for MONUSCO senior leadership, researches terminology, maintains reference resources, and supports communication across political, military, legal, administrative and technical work.

• Translate and self-revise official documents between French and English
• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation at high-level meetings
• Research terminology for political, military, legal and technical subjects
• Maintain the mission terminology and reference database
• Coach national staff and counterparts when operationally appropriate

• At least three years of French-English interpretation and translation experience
• Professional proficiency in English and French
• Training in languages, translation or interpretation

• International UN Volunteer assignment
