Overview

Lead UNFPA operations in Nairobi to strengthen country-programme delivery through sound finance, procurement, logistics, technology, human-resources administration, security and common services. The role advises the Representative, manages teams and improves compliant, cost-effective business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and set management targets for country-office operations
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, procurement, logistics, travel, information technology and administration
  • Supervise operations personnel and strengthen performance through coaching and clear accountability
  • Ensure compliance with UNFPA rules, internal controls and transparent resource management
  • Coordinate common services and joint operational arrangements with United Nations partners
  • Implement staff and premises security measures with the Representative and Security Management Team
  • Represent UNFPA in inter-agency operational forums and build service-provider partnerships

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in public administration, business administration, economics, management or a related field
  • Seven years of development experience in government, a multilateral organisation or civil society in a multicultural setting
  • At least three years of experience managing teams in a complex organisational setting
  • Knowledge of procurement, finance, human resources, contracts, assets and information technology
  • Field experience
  • Fluency in English
