Intern - Innovative Finance and International Financial Institutions

Supports UNIDO innovative finance and financial-institution partnerships through research, project concept development, funding proposals and partner engagement.

Department: Division of Innovative Finance and International Financial Institutions (IET/IFI)

• Conduct desktop research to support identification of new projects or programmes
• Conduct stakeholder and expert interviews with team colleagues
• Draft project or programme concepts and incorporate stakeholder feedback
• Research donor priority areas and eligibility criteria
• Prepare draft funding proposals based on project or programme concepts
• Identify and analyse priority projects for cooperation with financial institutions
• Support partner outreach by preparing briefing notes and following up on joint initiatives
• Contribute to meetings, workshops and events for dialogue and partnership development

• Enrolled in a second-level university degree programme or higher, or beginning the internship within one year of completing such a degree
• Alternatively enrolled in the final academic year of a first degree or beginning within one year of completing a first-level degree
• Field of specialization in development finance, finance, economics, international development, business administration, sustainable development or a related field
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and time-management skills
• Very good understanding of financial instruments and development cooperation

• Internship duration is six months, paid and full-time
• Interns receive a monthly stipend based on duty station
• Interns are responsible for living expenses, accommodation, visas and related costs
