Responsibilities
- Represent UNIDO with government, UN, donor and development stakeholders in Iran
- Lead Country Office activities and delivery against national development goals
- Identify, develop, implement and monitor technical cooperation projects and programmes
- Coordinate UNIDO engagement with UN country planning and regional strategies
- Strengthen partnerships with government, private sector and development finance institutions
- Manage Country Office financial and human resources in compliance with security and asset safeguards
- Apply results-based management to work planning, implementation and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in economics, business administration, international relations, public administration or another relevant field with specialization in development economics, or an advanced degree or doctorate with reduced experience requirement
- At least 10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor degree, seven years with a master degree or five years with a doctorate
- Progressively responsible national-level experience in economic development and senior technical cooperation
- Experience evaluating country needs, conditions and problems
- Experience supervising technical and non-technical teams across the project cycle
- Experience in representational functions and the UN system
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Persian
- Only nationals of Iran are eligible to apply
