Overview

Supports UNIDO's Latin America and Caribbean bureau in developing country and regional programmes, coordinating field offices and strengthening partnerships. The role shapes technical cooperation, monitors portfolios and produces evidence-based reporting aligned with national priorities and UNIDO strategy.

USD 108,429 / annually

Responsibilities

  • Backstop assigned countries and support UNIDO field offices across Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Coordinate communication with field offices and prepare briefing materials for partners and Member States
  • Develop cooperation strategies and technical assistance programmes aligned with country and regional priorities
  • Lead or support identification, formulation, implementation and monitoring of projects and programmes
  • Develop country, regional and partnership strategies with field and technical teams
  • Monitor country portfolios and the LAC Regional Programme using results-based management
  • Support senior missions, conferences and partnership activities and mobilise resources for regional programmes
  • Prepare evidence-based progress, annual, IRPF and SDG reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least eight years of relevant experience, master's degree with at least five years, or doctorate with at least three years in economics, development studies, business administration, international relations, public administration or a relevant field
  • Progressively responsible experience, including some international experience, in economic development and programme management involving technical cooperation in developing countries
  • Experience across all phases of the project cycle
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish
