Head of Operations

The Head of Operations will oversee WFP Gaza supply chain and programme functions, lead operational delivery, manage resources and partnerships, and act as Officer in Charge when required.

Department: WFP Palestine Management

• Oversee Gaza supply chain and programme functions to ensure effective delivery of WFP programmes and activities
• Manage operations and related resources within Gaza under delegated authority
• Provide coaching and support to Supply Chain, Programme and other functional staff
• Build cohesive cross-functional relationships for programme delivery within Palestine
• Prepare accurate operational reports on Gaza situations and performance for internal and external audiences
• Develop relationships with local authorities, civil society, UN agencies, donors, partners and media
• Support emergency response strategy implementation, operational planning, audit recommendations and compliance
• Deploy frequently to the field to monitor the humanitarian situation and team capacity

• Advanced university degree in economics, international development, social sciences or another relevant field, or first university degree with additional related work experience or training
• More than ten years of senior-level experience in large-scale emergency operations
• Six years of international experience
• Background and interest in international humanitarian development
• Extensive experience leading multicultural teams in complex contexts and improving performance
• Proficiency in English

• Consultant contract at CST III level in WFP Palestine Management
• Six-month assignment based in Gaza
