Responsibilities

  • Lead development of the operation supply chain strategy in line with IFRC standards and programme needs
  • Oversee requisitioning, receiving, storage and issuing of goods with National Society supply chain colleagues
  • Supervise operational procurement and sourcing systems with regional and operation managers
  • Coordinate supply chain matters with international, governmental and non-governmental stakeholders
  • Build host National Society supply chain capacity and support transfer of responsibilities
  • Provide technical support, training and advice on logistics regulations, procedures and best practice
  • Manage IFRC supply chain assets, compliance, reporting, budgets, staff and resources

Requirements

  • Professional qualification in logistics or equivalent experience
  • University degree in a relevant area
  • At least 7 years of professional logistics experience across procurement, contracting, transport, warehousing, stock control, distribution, convoying, workshops and customs clearance
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience with a humanitarian aid organisation in a developing country
  • Experience in field coordination and liaison with NGO, government and other agencies
  • Experience managing a multinational team, planning and managing budgets, and writing narrative and financial reports
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and international standards for goods and services
  • Fluent spoken and written English and French
