Education Specialist

Leads UNICEF Moldova's Education Section, guiding programme design, management and monitoring to improve learning outcomes and equitable, inclusive education while strengthening sector policy, education systems, partnerships and evidence-based dialogue with government and other stakeholders.

Department: Education Section

• Lead development and planning for UNICEF Moldova’s education programme
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring and delivery against agreed results and resource allocations
• Provide technical guidance on education policy, planning, governance and system strengthening
• Design and monitor equitable and inclusive education initiatives that improve learning outcomes
• Use education-sector evidence and analysis to support policy dialogue and programme decisions
• Build partnerships and advocate with government and other education stakeholders
• Lead and manage the Education Section and coordinate work across sectors and partners

• Advanced university degree in education, educational leadership, economics, sociology, psychology, international development or a related field
• At least five years of relevant experience in education, programme management, programme planning or education research
• Proficiency or fluency in both English and Romanian
• Moldovan nationality or residency with authorisation to work, as the role is nationally recruited

• Fixed-term national officer appointment
• Visa and work authorisation are not facilitated for nationally recruited positions
• Medical clearance and background verification are required
