Driver

Provides safe transport and logistical support for UN-Habitat’s South Sudan programme, driving staff on missions, moving project materials, planning routes, inspecting and maintaining vehicles, keeping fuel and movement records and complying with UN security, fleet and safeguarding procedures.

Department: EU Operational Support to the IGAD Platform

• Drive UN-Habitat personnel safely for official travel and field missions
• Transport project materials, equipment and official documents to activity sites
• Plan efficient routes and provide timely pick-up and drop-off
• Inspect vehicles daily and coordinate preventive maintenance, servicing and repairs
• Maintain movement, mileage, fuel, maintenance and travel records
• Keep vehicle licences, insurance and safety equipment valid and available
• Support field teams during meetings, training, assessments and monitoring visits

• Secondary school education
• Valid South Sudan driving licence
• At least five years of professional driving experience
• Knowledge of local traffic regulations, road-safety procedures and basic vehicle maintenance
• Fluency in English

• Individual-contractor assignment for six months
