Responsibilities
- Calculate variables, indicators and other data required for project delivery
- Extract, process and analyse public databases and official statistics
- Present urban data through tables, graphs, charts and maps
- Produce and manage georeferenced information and spatial-data documentation
- Conduct studies on informal settlements and territorial programme results
- Organise capacity-building activities for UN-Habitat and government staff
- Maintain accessible project data files and share technical information across teams
- Support programme deadlines, quality, budgets, risk identification and technical events
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in geography, economics, urban studies, architecture and urbanism, public policy, sociology, political science, statistics or a related field, or three additional years of relevant experience
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible project or programme management experience on urban themes in Brazil
- Professional or academic experience in public-policy data analysis, visualisation, collection and processing
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and web search tools
- Command of QGIS or ArcGIS and knowledge of R or Python
- Fluency in Portuguese

- Ten-month consultancy with possible extension
- Local appointment open to Brazilian nationals or candidates with permanent residence in Brazil
- Travel within Brazil may be required and funded under UN-Habitat rules
