Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Supports UNHCR monitoring and evaluation systems, evidence generation and results reporting for operations, partners and multi-year strategies serving forcibly displaced and stateless people.

Department: Monitoring and Evaluation

• Support development and refinement of multi-year monitoring and evaluation plans
• Advise results managers on indicators, baselines, targets and means of verification
• Coordinate assessments, implementation monitoring and results monitoring activities
• Promote participatory monitoring and reporting with communities and partners
• Support coherence across monitoring frameworks, tools and external reporting processes
• Manage evaluation-related data and maintain an accessible evidence base
• Design and deliver monitoring and evaluation training for staff and partners

• One year of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree, or no experience with a graduate or doctorate degree
• Degree in sociology, international relations, international development, economics, statistics, public health, another social science or a relevant field
• Experience planning, implementing and managing monitoring systems or independent evaluations in United Nations development or humanitarian contexts
• Experience setting up monitoring systems and rolling out results-based management frameworks
• Experience coordinating internal and external stakeholders in a cross-cultural professional environment

• Temporary assignment from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2026
