Assistant Supply Officer (Proximity Sourcing Specialist)

Supports UNHCR's Proximity Sourcing project by mapping local and regional suppliers for core relief items, assessing procurement feasibility and producing evidence to shorten supply chains for emergency responses.

Department: Global Supply Chain

• Conduct market scans for core relief item suppliers in target regions
• Analyse supplier quality, pricing and compliance against UNHCR technical specifications
• Recommend suppliers for pilot tenders and proximity sourcing strategies
• Engage stakeholders through virtual and in-person supplier assessments
• Prepare supplier profiles, market assessments and analytical reports
• Collect and harmonise project inputs for donor reporting
• Support capacity-building materials, field engagement tools and preparation of supplier facility visits

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, procurement, business administration, public administration, law or a relevant field; candidates with a first-level degree may be considered with additional relevant experience
• One year of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or no experience with a graduate or doctorate degree
• Relevant experience in public-sector procurement, supply chain management or related fields
• Demonstrated experience conducting procurement reviews and managing complex procurement processes

• Full-time assignment of 40 working hours per week
• Duration is from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2026
• Shortlisted candidates may be required to sit a written test
