Job Description

Leads UNICEF Djibouti’s communication and digital storytelling while strengthening partnerships and resource mobilisation. The role manages campaigns, multimedia production and emergency communication, and mentors a UN Volunteer team to expand the Young Champions Initiative and sustain communications capacity.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead UNICEF Djibouti communications and oversee multimedia content production
  • Set editorial direction for web and social-media channels and improve audience engagement
  • Produce donor-facing communication products and maintain resource-mobilisation trackers
  • Coordinate the UNICEF-UNV partnership and replicate the Young Champions Initiative
  • Guide and mentor national and community UN Volunteers in communication work
  • Lead campaigns, media engagement and emergency risk communication while documenting sustainable tools and procedures

Role Requirements

  • Proven experience in social-media and digital-content strategy with measurable results
  • Multimedia production skills in photography, videography and editing
  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
  • Experience producing donor-facing or partnership communication products
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to coordinate and mentor a small team
  • English proficiency
  • Nationality of Andorra, Croatia, Estonia, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, San Marino, Slovenia, Brunei, Marshall Islands, Palau, Seychelles, Suriname or Tuvalu

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with the United Nations or international organisations
  • Experience in humanitarian or hardship settings
  • Familiarity with volunteerism and the UNV programme
