Overview
Leads UN-Habitat’s corporate strategic planning, results framework and monitoring of the 2026–2029 Strategic Plan and annual work programme. The unit chief guides reporting, project design, resource planning and staff delivery for evidence-based sustainable urban development.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-year strategic plans and annual work-planning processes across UN-Habitat
- Guide development of results frameworks, indicators and lessons-based revisions
- Lead corporate monitoring and reporting for the Strategic Plan and annual work programme
- Advise project design through theories of change, logical frameworks and evaluation perspectives
- Manage the unit work programme, priorities, resources, budgets and performance indicators
- Prepare strategic reports and substantive inputs for governing and intergovernmental bodies
- Recruit, supervise, coach and develop multidisciplinary staff in results-based management
- Represent UN-Habitat in inter-agency forums and present data-driven strategic insights
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in business or public administration, finance, budget or a related area, or a first university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in budget, finance, strategic planning, policy analysis or a related area
- At least three years preparing institutional strategies and reports for senior leadership
- At least three years monitoring, evaluating and reporting on organisational strategic plans and results-based management frameworks
- Experience presenting strategic advice and recommendations to senior management, governing bodies or intergovernmental forums
- English at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking
