Overview

The role supports MHPSS project activities for international protection applicants in transit accommodation centres in Ireland. It provides casework and community-level psychosocial support, maps services, coordinates referrals and strengthens access to protection and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Map basic services and protection activities and share information on how to access them
  • Provide direct assistance to vulnerable individuals and families among affected populations
  • Organize sensitization, information and problem-solving group sessions with the educator
  • Strengthen social networks and participatory community psychosocial initiatives
  • Identify vulnerable cases and support access to protection services through MHPSS assessments
  • Coordinate inclusion of vulnerable cases in community-based activities
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to community focal points and volunteers
  • Facilitate MHPSS needs assessments, surveys and research in project communities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or Social Work with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work with migrants and asylum seekers
  • Intercultural competence and communication skills
  • Knowledge of procedures related to asylum applications in Ireland
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and work with statistics
  • Fluency in English, oral and written
  • Valid residence and work permit for Ireland
