Overview

Provides protection screening and case management for migrants supported by the Assisted Voluntary Return programme in the Caribbean, coordinating referrals for survivors of GBV, trafficking and other vulnerable groups.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual protection screening of migrants and identify vulnerabilities and protection risks
  • Provide case management, follow-up and referrals to specialised services
  • Support safe and dignified post-arrival assistance with privacy, confidentiality and informed consent
  • Communicate assistance options to beneficiaries in culturally and age-appropriate ways
  • Maintain case notes and data in IOM case management systems
  • Coordinate with protection, health, psychosocial and logistics staff to ensure timely service provision
  • Participate in protection coordination forums and strengthen referral networks
  • Prepare reports, case summaries and monitoring inputs for protection activities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social sciences, international relations, research, law or a related field with two years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree with four years of relevant experience
  • Experience in protection case management in humanitarian or migration contexts, including survivors of GBV and human trafficking and children at risk
  • Experience working with vulnerable persons, ideally including returnees or deported migrants with complex needs
  • Experience with referrals and coordination with local protection actors, NGOs or government services
