Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, implementation and monitoring of UNFPA's humanitarian response in Myanmar
  • Lead SRH and GBV programming across humanitarian, peacebuilding and development activities
  • Represent UNFPA in inter-agency coordination, donor and partner meetings
  • Guide procurement, distribution and use of emergency reproductive-health and dignity kits
  • Develop guidelines, strategies and standard operating procedures for SRH and GBV response
  • Build partner capacity through training, technical assistance and institutional strengthening
  • Monitor project expenditure, disbursement, reporting and implementation progress
  • Supervise and support field-based SRH and GBV staff and partners

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in humanitarian assistance, gender studies, social work, social sciences, public or community health, law or a related discipline
  • Seven years of increasingly responsible relevant professional experience, including GBV coordination and programme management
  • Experience with large multi-sectoral projects, proposal design and partner liaison
  • Experience on gender issues in development, humanitarian coordination and GBV, including international human rights standards
  • Operational and advocacy experience implementing UN Security Council resolutions on Women, Peace and Security
  • Knowledge of SRHR and protection issues across the development, humanitarian and peacebuilding nexus
  • Prior training in gender and GBV issues and their application in humanitarian, conflict, recovery and development settings
  • Excellent written and verbal English

Additional info

  • Full-time consultancy expected for six months from contract date or as soon as possible
  • Duty station is Yangon; services may be delivered remotely while awaiting visa approval
  • Selection may be subject to background and reference checks, medical clearance, visa issuance and other administrative requirements
