Associate Construction Management Engineer

The engineer will help UNOPS supervise construction of inclusive, climate-responsive public spaces and urban infrastructure in Jordan by reviewing designs, inspecting sites, verifying quality and contractor payments, coordinating stakeholders and documenting progress, risks and compliance.

Department: UN-Habitat Jordan

• Review project workplans, drawings and specifications during design and procurement
• Supervise construction against designs, technical specifications, safety rules and contract terms
• Inspect work quality and materials and monitor environmental and social compliance
• Verify contractor progress, interim payment certificates, variations and cost claims
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, authorities, communities and project end-users
• Monitor schedules, testing plans, delays, risks and financial progress
• Prepare site-inspection, technical and progress reports
• Support procurement, logistics, document control and construction-management learning

• Secondary education with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture, construction management or a related discipline with two years of experience
• Relevant experience in urban-space or landscape construction, site supervision or infrastructure project management
• Experience in quality control, construction monitoring and reporting
• Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
• Fluency in English and Arabic

• Local individual contractor agreement at LICA-6 for 12 months
• UNOPS is the contracting organisation for work supporting UN-Habitat Jordan projects
