Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritise legal advisory, procedural and organisational matters for the Executive Director Legal Affairs and General Counsel
  • Draft or supervise strategic correspondence, reports and documents for governing bodies and external entities
  • Manage EDLA Executive Office performance, budget, staffing and delivery against agreed priorities
  • Assign, supervise and quality assure the work of staff in the EDLA Executive Office
  • Represent EDLA in meetings with internal and external stakeholders and convey senior legal leadership views
  • Maintain relationships with National Central Bureaus, member-country representatives and international organisations
  • Monitor project progress, milestones and issues and brief the Executive Director on significant matters

Requirements

  • Higher education in law such as a Master’s, JD, LLM, LLD or equivalent
  • Ten years of professional legal experience at increasing levels of responsibility in a legal, law enforcement or policing environment
  • Experience supervising teams of lawyers and administrative staff
  • Professional fluency in English
