Responsibilities

  • Develop and plan WASH programme strategies and results within the country programme
  • Manage programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of WASH results
  • Provide technical and operational support for water, sanitation and hygiene activities
  • Lead humanitarian WASH preparedness and emergency response support
  • Represent UNICEF in technical working groups and sector forums
  • Build partnerships with government, NGOs and other WASH stakeholders
  • Advance innovation, knowledge management and capacity building across the programme

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in public health, social science, communications, behaviour change communication, sanitary engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering or another relevant technical field
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in WASH programmes in developing countries
  • At least one year of deployment experience in a developing country
  • At least one three-month deployment mission in a humanitarian situation with the UN, government or an international NGO
  • Fluency in French and English
