Senior Security Associate

Supports safety and security management for UNOPS personnel, assets and operations in Syria by coordinating risk information, incident reporting, emergency preparedness and liaison with UNDSS and local authorities.

Department: UNMAS Syria Programme

• Conduct routine and ad hoc security risk assessments for offices, project sites and residences
• Collect and analyse security information for updates, reports and security plans
• Support security plans, contingency plans and mandatory mitigation measures aligned with UNDSS guidance
• Maintain personnel lists, warden data and emergency contact information
• Document and report security incidents affecting UNOPS personnel, property or operations
• Coordinate with UNDSS, law enforcement, government agencies and community stakeholders
• Support emergency drills, security briefings, access permits and residential security measures
• Deliver security training support and contribute to security research and briefing notes

• Secondary school with seven years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree in any discipline with three years of relevant experience
• Relevant experience in security operations, including incident reporting, security administration support, security communications, warden systems or related areas
• Experience using collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
• Fluency in English and Arabic

• Twelve-month LICA contract
• Role supports the UNMAS Syria Programme in a high-risk mine-action context
• Background checks are required for final candidates
