Senior Officer, Infrastructure Support (Network and Telecom Operations)

Delivers IT infrastructure support for IFRC telecommunications and network services, safeguarding information security, availability and integrity while advising on global network operations, security solutions and support procedures for IFRC stakeholders and end users.

Department: Digital Transformation Department

• Provide third-level operational support for global networking and telecommunication infrastructure and services
• Design, install and maintain LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, wireless, VoIP, PSTN and network security systems
• Maintain network asset management processes, inventories, layouts and technical documentation
• Monitor service availability, network performance metrics, KPIs, SLAs and operational compliance
• Coordinate security audits, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and risk mitigation for network infrastructure
• Advise projects on network and telecom requirements during scoping, design, analysis and implementation
• Lead network modernisation initiatives, capacity management and cloud-enabled infrastructure projects
• Support tender, contract management and market assessment processes for network and telecom providers

• Engineering degree in a computer sciences discipline or equivalent experience
• ITIL certification or equivalent experience and proven track record of ITIL usage in an enterprise environment
• CCNA certification or equivalent experience with a commitment to obtain such certificates in the foreseeable future
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in administration, setup, maintenance and data centre operation
• Minimum ten years of professional experience in IT, including at least five years of networking and firewall infrastructure design and administration
• Proven track record managing large Windows networks including ADDS, ADFS, ADCS, DNS, DHCP and related networking and security services
• Minimum three years of professional experience in operational maintenance and configuration of hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in administration, setup, maintenance and management of Windows Servers including failover clustering

• This is a national staff position open to Hungarian nationals and others legally eligible to work in Hungary
