Data Platform DevOps Engineer

Designs, automates and governs IFRC's Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platform so data teams can deliver reliable, secure and scalable humanitarian data services.

Department: AI and Data Management Unit

• Design and maintain Microsoft Fabric data platform infrastructure across analytics workloads
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows for Fabric workspaces
• Manage platform capacity, monitoring, observability, backups and business continuity
• Implement security, data governance and compliance controls across the Fabric ecosystem
• Automate operational tasks using scripting and cloud command-line tools
• Support data engineers, analysts and developers with technical guidance and troubleshooting
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and platform inventories

• Degree in computer science, information security, data science or a related field
• At least five years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering or site reliability engineering
• At least three years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric or related Microsoft data platforms
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash and SQL
• Experience with cloud blob data services and managed relational databases
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
• Understanding of storage ACLs, network security, encryption, identity management and cloud security best practices

• The role may be based in any IFRC regional office or another location under a direct consultancy arrangement
