Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and knowledge products for resilient infrastructure operations
  • Integrate resilience across policy diagnostics, design standards, investments and implementation
  • Advise on engineering standards, performance metrics and results frameworks
  • Conduct or guide exposure, vulnerability, risk and post-disaster assessments
  • Support preparation and implementation of resilient road and drainage investments
  • Supervise technical-assistance budgets, consultants, quality and trust-fund reporting
  • Advise government, contractor and development-partner stakeholders during country activities
  • Deliver capacity building for World Bank and client-country teams

Requirements

  • Master degree in civil, geotechnical or hydraulic engineering, disaster-risk management or a related field
  • At least eight years of progressively responsible professional experience excluding internships
  • Experience assessing vulnerability of road or urban infrastructure and integrating resilience into designs
  • Field experience conducting infrastructure assessments, site investigations or design reviews
  • International technical-advisory experience across countries or regions
  • Excellent written and spoken English
