Research Manager – Prevention of Harmful Practices

Leads UNICEF’s research portfolio on ending child marriage, female genital mutilation and related harmful practices. The manager sets research priorities, oversees multi-country and mixed-method studies, synthesises evidence and translates findings into stronger policy, programmes and global advocacy.

• Set priorities and strategic direction for the harmful-practices research portfolio
• Lead multi-country social-science and mixed-methods research initiatives
• Generate and synthesise evidence on child marriage and female genital mutilation
• Translate research findings into policy, programme and investment decisions
• Coordinate research with country offices, governments, universities and civil society
• Produce technical publications and evidence products
• Strengthen dissemination, uptake and strategic influence of research findings

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public policy, gender studies, international development, public health, sociology, anthropology, economics or another relevant field
• At least eight years of research experience covering harmful practices, gender equality, adolescent girls, child protection or related fields
• Experience managing complex research portfolios and multi-country initiatives
• Experience conducting and overseeing social-science and mixed-methods research
• Proficiency in English
