The NATO Red Team Lead plans and directs adversary-simulation operations in Mons. The role defines scope and rules, leads technical execution, protects operational security, communicates findings, develops tooling and research, and helps stakeholders strengthen defenses against sophisticated cyber threats.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead red-team and adversary-simulation engagements
  • Define engagement scope, objectives and rules of engagement
  • Maintain operational security throughout technical operations
  • Direct penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
  • Develop scripts, tools and controlled malware capabilities
  • Document findings and brief technical and executive stakeholders
  • Lead research and development on emerging attack techniques

Role Requirements

  • Master degree in a related discipline with five years of experience, or a bachelor degree with eight years
  • Recognized offensive-security or red-team certification
  • At least five years of practical offensive-cybersecurity experience
  • At least five years across red-team operations, penetration testing, network security, vulnerability assessment and security tooling
  • Scripting ability in Perl, Python, Ruby or shell
  • Experience leading red-team engagements
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams in an international environment
  • Experience identifying vulnerabilities and discovering zero-day flaws
